ROMANCE IN A MAUSOLEUM

Love changes everything, turns life upside down
But you are not sorry, for having fallen in love
It is something you believe is right, you submit to its awesome power
Let it take complete control of you, leading you to a landscape of dreams
Knowing well all may not come true, yet feeling a sense of fulfilment
That love helps cultivate, a bond for life
In a world of change, where love alone will remain unchanged.

Sigh! The only place one finds romance nowadays is in the lyrics of songs, in movies or buried within the pages of a book. Ground reality is so different. Life today is hectic, fast paced and technology driven. It’s an era of e-cards; e- mails, internet graphics downloaded with a quick note attached and even flowers and smooches on the sms. It’s an age of chats, conferences and virtual dating. Gosh! The great battle for equality of the sexes has resulted in women dressing like men not only physically and professionally but in their personal lives too. Love and romance now look like things of the past.
Romance isn't about fairy tale love and movie love, it's something very real. To me, romance is the best kind of foreplay. It’s the time consuming art of mental and verbal seduction. But in the jet age of romance, getting closer to the culmination has gained priority over the exploration itself. What a pity that we have done away with good old fashioned romance coupled with mushy talk and lovey dovey touches.
Romance has a lot of different levels as well. You may not be with the most ROMANTIC guy in the world so something small may be the greatest thing in the world. Yet, it may seem it is for someone else. Romance doesn't ALWAYS have to be about flowers and balloons, rings and gifts, and chocolates and cards. Whoever said "its the little things that count" was TOTALLY right. So just go ahead and ROMANCE YOUR WAY TO LOVING that special someone for Love can touch just one time and last for a lifetime.
